Hello, my name is Wayne Lawton and I'm an amateur photographer.
I enjoy taking photos of just about anything that catches my eye, textures, shadows, angles, etc.
I really enjoy hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area and tend to drag my camera along on these excursions.
Most of these photos were taken with a Canon Rebel XTI
although there are also a few shots from various point and shoot cameras that I own.
Feel free to comment or offer advice, (Or criticism, I can take it),
and with any luck, as this blog progresses, so will my photo taking abilities.

Hayward Shoreline & Alameda...

It's been a month since I last wrote.
I got my camera back. Good as new.
Just in time for winter and only an hour of daylight after work.
Not much time to work with.

The first couple of photos were taken near the Hayward interpretive center at Sunset.

This one was taken around a half an hour after sunset.
I like the way the light from a nearby street lamp cast a reddish/orange glow over the scene.

These next photos were taken wandering around the old Alameda Naval Air Base.
The first picture is of some rail road track laid into the asphalt near the USS Hornet.

I like the way the shadows of the chimneys were falling onto the side of the building with these shots.
I think I like the Black & White photo better, the sky is more dramatic.

The march of the light poles.

A shot of the City with a decrepit dock in the foreground.

And this was a rock on the jetty.
Must be sandstone or some equally soft material that has been sculpted by wind and wave.

A couple of shots of the giant cargo cranes over in the port of Oakland.

Some Peaceful Flowers.

Planted right under the accoutrement of War.

Last but not least, a sunrise behind my office.

Well, that's all for this week.
See you again soon.
