Hello, my name is Wayne Lawton and I'm an amateur photographer.
I enjoy taking photos of just about anything that catches my eye, textures, shadows, angles, etc.
I really enjoy hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area and tend to drag my camera along on these excursions.
Most of these photos were taken with a Canon Rebel XTI
although there are also a few shots from various point and shoot cameras that I own.
Feel free to comment or offer advice, (Or criticism, I can take it),
and with any luck, as this blog progresses, so will my photo taking abilities.

Hwy. 1 & Santa Cruz...

Here are a few shots I took on a photography outing I went on with a couple of my old friends.
We headed out Hwy. 92 to the coast in Half Moon Bay and then hung a left and headed to Santa Cruz
making a few stops long the way whenever we saw something that caught our eye.
The first shots are of the Pigeon Point Lighthouse and then a spot along the coast a bit south from there.

Next we saw this rock out in the ocean shedding surf and we tried to find a way out to it to sake some shots and lucked across this cool cove surrounded by these beautiful ocher and white cliffs.

After that we made it down to Santa Cruz and Natural Bridges Beach.
We had hoped to catch the Monarch Butterfly migration there
but alas only saw a couple of lone butterflies flitting about.

The light started to fade and that lent itself to a couple of nice shots.

As the sun was setting I squeezed in a couple of last shots before we packed it up and headed home.

Until next time.
