Hello, my name is Wayne Lawton and I'm an amateur photographer.
I enjoy taking photos of just about anything that catches my eye, textures, shadows, angles, etc.
I really enjoy hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area and tend to drag my camera along on these excursions.
Most of these photos were taken with a Canon Rebel XTI
although there are also a few shots from various point and shoot cameras that I own.
Feel free to comment or offer advice, (Or criticism, I can take it),
and with any luck, as this blog progresses, so will my photo taking abilities.

Waterfalls & Whatnot...

All the rains this year had the waterfalls around the bay area flowing.
Did a couple of day trips over to Marin
and one down to Morgan Hill to try and get some shots of a few of them.
The first couple of photos are of Carson Falls in Marin.

On that same trip, we also hit Cascade Falls

and found this cool colorful fungi on the hike out.

Next it was a trip down to Morgan Hill and into Uvas Canyon.
Pretty cool little park.
The three waterfalls we found here were all within a couple of mile round trip hike from the parking lot.
We first encountered a small spillway that was rather picturesque
but we were hoping this wasn't what they were calling the waterfalls.

We then found the first set of real falls that was called Black Rock Falls

Next stop was a two tiered number called Upper Falls.

The last set was called Basin Falls.

These were all pretty and worth the drive down.
On the hike back to the car, we found this little snake.
Loved the way it wound up it's tail to make itself look like a rattler so we wouldn't mess with it.
Beautiful coloration.

These last couple of photos are of another trip to Marin.
Loma Alta Falls.

And just a shot I took of the roadway on the back side of Mt. Tamalpias as we were driving around.

Well, that's it for this post.
