Hello, my name is Wayne Lawton and I'm an amateur photographer.
I enjoy taking photos of just about anything that catches my eye, textures, shadows, angles, etc.
I really enjoy hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area and tend to drag my camera along on these excursions.
Most of these photos were taken with a Canon Rebel XTI
although there are also a few shots from various point and shoot cameras that I own.
Feel free to comment or offer advice, (Or criticism, I can take it),
and with any luck, as this blog progresses, so will my photo taking abilities.

Fort Ross On The Sonoma Coast...

Here are a few shots I took on a recent road trip up to Fort Ross on the Sonoma Coast.
I had read recently that they were considering closing the fort.
I had fond memories of visiting it with my Father when I was young,
so I wanted to see it again before it was closed.
These first shots were taken on the drive out to the coast from Petaluma.
We saw these buzzards flying around over a field next to the road,
and right after that, we found this church a short way off the highway.

We finally made it to Fort Ross in the early afternoon.
We hiked out and just started to snap away.
I got a couple of good shots out in the middle of the compound.

These next shots were taken inside the buildings,
(I have to give my friend Venus credit for the shot of her leaning against the wall near the window,
as she composed the shot with me in it first and I just copied her).

The last couple of shots were taken when we made a couple of stops along Hwy. 1 on the way home.

Until next time.
