Hello, my name is Wayne Lawton and I'm an amateur photographer.
I enjoy taking photos of just about anything that catches my eye, textures, shadows, angles, etc.
I really enjoy hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area and tend to drag my camera along on these excursions.
Most of these photos were taken with a Canon Rebel XTI
although there are also a few shots from various point and shoot cameras that I own.
Feel free to comment or offer advice, (Or criticism, I can take it),
and with any luck, as this blog progresses, so will my photo taking abilities.

Diablo, Berkeley & Sunol...

Here are a few shots I took on a recent hike on Mt. Diablo.
It had rained the few days before the hike, so we found some small falls.

There were also some beautiful wildflowers blooming around.

I recently read an article about how to convert your old digital camera into an "Infrared Camera".
I had an old one megapixel camera lying around and decided to give it a shot.
It worked like a charm. Not a true infrared of course, but a pretty cool effect.

These next shots were taken in when me & my kid were goofing around in Berkeley.
Here are a couple of poppies poking through a fence.

This is part of an walkway over 880.

And a cool parking structure against an incredible blue sky backdrop.

These last shots were taken on hike out in Sunol.
A butterfly we encountered on the Indian Joe trail.

A shot of a strange creature emerging from the earth.

And this last one is a calf that we encountered towards the end of our hike.

Until next time.
