Hello, my name is Wayne Lawton and I'm an amateur photographer.
I enjoy taking photos of just about anything that catches my eye, textures, shadows, angles, etc.
I really enjoy hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area and tend to drag my camera along on these excursions.
Most of these photos were taken with a Canon Rebel XTI
although there are also a few shots from various point and shoot cameras that I own.
Feel free to comment or offer advice, (Or criticism, I can take it),
and with any luck, as this blog progresses, so will my photo taking abilities.

Short Post...

I took a recent trip up to Portland Oregon and unfortunately,
I didn't have a lot of spare time to go out and shoot as much as I would have liked to.
On the day we were leaving, we freed up a couple of hours and took a drive out along the Columbia River.
The first couple of photos were taken up at Crown Point.
It was very foggy so there was not much of a view.

These next two shots were taken at Bridal Veil Falls.
I didn't get to bring my tripod along, which would have been very helpful on these shots,
but even hand held, they didn't turn out too bad.

When I got back into town, I discovered an East Bay photography group on line,
http://photo.meetup.com/661/?a=wm1_gn.
They were having a meeting and then heading over to a traveling carnival to take some night shots.
I hooked up with them and took some photos of the Ferris Wheels.
A couple of the shots turned out half decent.

This next photo was taken out on the Par Course at the San Leandro Marina.
My wife and I took a walk out there on a recent evening.
Really not a lot to take pictures of but I did get this one shot.

A blossoming tree in my condo complex.

And last but not least, we had a little rain last Friday
so I decided to take a hike out to the Falls at San Pedro Valley County Park in Pacifica.
Well, apparently, they didn't get any rain over on the Peninsula so there was not so much as a trickle of a water fall.
There were however, some nice flowers and things along the trail and here are a few shots of them.

Well, that's all for this post.
See you again soon.
