Hello, my name is Wayne Lawton and I'm an amateur photographer.
I enjoy taking photos of just about anything that catches my eye, textures, shadows, angles, etc.
I really enjoy hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area and tend to drag my camera along on these excursions.
Most of these photos were taken with a Canon Rebel XTI
although there are also a few shots from various point and shoot cameras that I own.
Feel free to comment or offer advice, (Or criticism, I can take it),
and with any luck, as this blog progresses, so will my photo taking abilities.

Sunol Water Temple & Sibley Volcanic Park...

Not a whole lot of photos this time around,
but a couple of good ones.

The first few photos were taken out at the Sunol Water Temple.

I especially like the ceiling of the structure.
I'm not sure if the empty and half completed panels were left that way on purpose
or if they are going to be finished at some later date.
They actually kind of add to the aesthetics of the structure.
(As does my beautiful Wife in the second photo).

The sunset was looking like it was going to pop on this evening
so I grabbed the wife and we hopped on the Harley and headed for the hills.
The sunset turned out to be a bit of a bust,
but we got this shot of it and us reflected in the tank.

This next photo is of a light post overlooking the entrance to the Caldecott Tunnel on the Orinda side.

These next photos were taken up at Sibley Volcanic Park in the Oakland Hills.
The first few pictures were of this beautiful blossoming tree.
I really liked the contrast of the white flowers against the blue sky.
(And the bee).

When a good breeze would come up, it looked like it was snowing.

Further out in the park there are a couple of labyrinths.
People leave little offerings at the center.
This is the smaller and more remote of the two in the park.
Nice View of Mt. Diablo in the background.
(I'm going to have to hike out here next winter
when Mt. Diablo get a dusting of snow).

Next are some flowers I found out in the park.
I like the way the petals have curled up in the first shot
revealing a hint of their dark undersides.

I'm not sure which of these two shots I like better.
The first shot that is in focus came out great,
but the breeze blurred send shot has it's charm as well.

Well, that's all for this post.
See you again soon.
